We inform

With the support of the Swedish charity organization Baltic2000 there has been additionally collected SEK 8,050. - or LVL 575. - for Laura's surgery, and yesterday this sum of money was transferred into the account specially provided for this purpose.

We are much obliged to the coordinator of Baltic2000 in Latvia Ieva Johnson and to all those good people who donated for the little girl's surgery.

We are glad

On the 9th of October the little Laura is going to St. Petersburgh to have an operation that will enable her to see this world. Right now in their account, LVL 908. - have been donated, which is sufficient to cover the traveling expenses, the surgery and stay at the hospital for one week.

The amount of 3,000. - in the Swedish crones has been collected for Laura's needs by taking part into the Swedish charity organization Baltic2000. The representatives of this organization will arrive in Riga on the 2nd of November to bring here the donated goods, to meet "MāRV" moms and to visit the family of Laura.

The little patients from the children's department of Tukums hospital

are waiting ...

The little Arthur is two years old. He arrived at the hospital all of a sudden - when he was seized by a serious asthmatic attack. Thanks to your donated books and toys it was easier for Arthur to get through those four days which the little boy spent in his bed being tied down to the intravenous system until his state of health became stable. Following the initiative of some mommy, the charity campaign which was organized by "MāRV" was launched for the little patients of the children's department of Tukums hospital in July of the current year and it will end at Christmas 2004.

During the campaign, it is intended to collect the material donations for the needs of the little patients.

At the beginning of September, we visited the small patients,

bringing the things donated by mommies, and acquainted ourselves with the medical staff of the children's department. Really nice nurses and a lady-doctor are working in this department doing their utmost for the good of the small patients; for all that, the material supply from the state is thin on the ground... The department has been quite recently refitted, still it lacks the most elementary things: potties, cribs, feeding-bottles, soothers, crockery, blankets, pillows, bedclothes and sanitary goods.

Part of your donations gathered during the market organized by Cālis (Chicken) (books, toys, feeding-bottles, soothers, crockery),

have been already delivered to the small patients.

We hope that the coloured books, toys, coloured pencils and other so necessary things will alleviate the babies' life at the hospital.
